Testimonial Golf Course Marketing

According to knowthis.com, in promotion and/or advertising, a testimonial or show consists of a person’s written or spoken statement extolling the virtue of a product or a service. The term “testimonial” most commonly applies to the sales pitches attributed to ordinary citizens, whereas the word “endorsement” usually applies to sales pitches by celebrities. Testimonials can be part of communal marketing.

Testimonials can be extremely effective for grabbing the attention of a large percentage of the population. I have always heard there are four basic personality types; the director, the socialist, the relator and the analytical personality. The population is comprised of these four basic personality types and everybody has a little of all four of them but they (people) always have one driving personality type.

Testimonials are unbelievably important to the Relater type of personality. And as I said earlier, we all have a little of the characteristics of all four. Hence, we all have some “Relater” traits in our own personalities.

A Relater personality wants to know how everyone else feels about the said product or service. In your case, how do other golfers feel about your golf course, your golf products and/or your golf services, etc.? By using testimonials on your website and having them available to use in your professional golf membership sales presentations, you will be able to increase your percentage of closing and locking-up new relationships. People want to know what other people think and feel about your golf products and/or golf services.

Golfers know you are in business and you are in business to make money. Some golfers are going to think you will say anything to get them to purchase your golf course membership. What they don’t realize, don’t know, or may not know, is, you are very ethical and would not be involved with a subpar golf product and/or golf service and you offer testimonial evidence to prove so.

You have very little credibility when trying to lock-up the relationship, as opposed to a testimonial which comes from a golfer or golf member. Testimonials from numerous golfers will eliminate any concerns the new golfer may have with the validity of your statements and claims.
